Best small sized vacuum Sep 05, 2010 I bought this vacuum to replace my Dirt Devil. I am a professional auto detailer and wanted something powerful, yet small. I got tired of lugging around the house sized canister. The battery rechargable vacuums on the market don't have enough power for my needs. I was quite surprised to find that it actually cleaned the interior of the car with vigor! Compact and easy to use, sturdy as well. Love the stainless steel design.
The only drawback for me is that the steel body gets hot to the touch after being on for a bit. if you are not using it for work and just picking up a little mess in the house or doing the stairs, this probably won't be an issue. Also, I will have to empty the bag more on such a small vacuum. I plan to buy the reusable cloth bag to save money on purchasing throwaway bags. Moreover, I am purchasing the shoulder strap Metro Vac sells on their web site to solve the problem of the vacuum body getting hot to my touch. That, along with the flexible hose, will keep me from having to constantly touch the vacuum while using. These issues don't keep me from giving it 5 stars or from recommending this product to others. On top of all the good stuff, it is made in the U.S.A!

Good but has some issues Aug 24, 2010 I bought this vac mainly to use on the interior of my car but unfortunately it's plagued with a some issues:
1. The power cord is so short as to be useless. So plan on always keeping an extension cord hooked up to it.
2. It is very awkward to hold by it's handle in tight places like the floor of your car, under seats, etc, so I end up just holding it by it's body... which is not ideal.
3. The main, wide attachment does not stay on tight and is constantly falling off the vacuum... extremely annoying.
4. The air exhausting out of the back of the vacuum is so strong you wonder if the vacuuming you're doing is effective at all or if you're just creating a typhoon. ( I realize this is the result of the unit's strong motor and suction but with the vac being so compact, there's no way to direct the outgoing airflow in a different direction.)
It does have a couple redeeming qualities though... it seems very sturdy. And it looks cool!
But if you are buying a vac for car care you might want to explore some other options.
It sucks a lot, but that's not the issue Aug 21, 2010 The different attachments fit to the body of the vac very poorly.. almost making it useless. Very frustrating to use and quite disappointing.
metro vac good item, but warning... Aug 11, 2010 It is nice looking sturdy and light-weight metal, has lots of suction power, the cord is long (I still have to add another extension to be able to reach the entire car), it is not rechargeable, does not plug into your car, and the attachments come off too easily. It makes me nervous vacuuming because I know the attachments are going to pop off no matter how hard I push them on to the nozzle - it drives me bonkers once I get going - and over the noise (it's very loud) one can hear my annoyance. I have duct tape holding the attachments on. It heats up quickly and limits the usage time, as I am worried the motor will strain and burn out. Also you must buy a hose separately (if you feel you need it) and the small bags must also be purchased (but it comes with two) however bags are more hygienic. I am generally pleased with this little vac (it is moderately powerful) and I also use it to clean lint traps, pet hair, drapes and mattresses. Except for the #@*#ing attachments coming off it is good, but I would have priced it more fairly at $50 not $65.
well built vac, but small filter bag Jul 27, 2010 It is a heavy duty construction and strong suction, only wish it had a bigger filter bag. Will be purchasing a lot of bags as it appears to hold no more than a cup full of dirt.
